Savage manufactures specialty presses for hot forming
of nickel based alloys, specialty alloys and superplastic forming of titanium.
In addition, hot presses are available for forging/extruding crystal.
Savage hot presses feature an integral furnace to apply forming pressure
at up to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit. Frequently used in the manufacture of
aircraft components of titanium or stainless steel alloys. Crystal forging
presses are used in the nuclear and medical equipment industries.
100 Ton SPF Lab Press
100 Ton Superplastic Forming Press
Hot press is used for SPF of titanium aircraft parts. Alloy sheet is heated in the press to its super plastic state then formed with controlled gas pressure into complex shapes, ducts and structures.

500 Ton Crystal Forging Press
500 Ton Hot Press - Upacting
Used for forging/flattening large diameter crystals into lenses for MRI imaging machines. Press closes at a controlled rate of .004 IPM to prevent fracture of the crystal. Includes stainless heated platens and recirculating heated air.
